Engineering and digital services joint venture UzAssystem has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with longstanding academic partners Tashkent State Technical University and Uzbekistan’s Regional Electric Networks JSC to enable cooperation on training the next generation of grid specialists in Uzbekistan.

As part of this commitment, UzAssystem will conduct master classes and training sessions for leading specialists of Regional Electric Networks JSC, students and education staff of Tashkent State Technical University as well as affiliate employees of Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

This MOU builds on UzAssystem’s commitment to supporting the development of the next generation of engineering talent in Uzbekistan and, since its inception in 2020, the JV has grown to employ more than 110 experts in its offices in Tashkent.

The agreement will see the opening of a new training centre at Tashkent State Technical University, with a newly refurbished classroom to be equipped with IT equipment capable of running programmes such as the DigSilent modeling and planning software demonstrated at the signing ceremony by UzAssystem.

This MoU expands UzAssystem’s reach across the Uzbekistan energy transition ecosystem, increasing access to essential skills development in the sector and expanding the pipeline of engineering talents in the central Asian region.

Kerem Sadiklar, General Manager, UzAssystem said: “To deliver a modern electrical grid capable of harnessing Uzbekistan’s booming renewable energy infrastructure, the country needs experts who are skilled in the latest digital solutions. This Memorandum of Understanding serves as an expansion of our commitment to supporting the development of the next generation of engineering talent in Uzbekistan.”
