Who we are

Energy transition engineering Joint Venture

About UzAssystem

Created in 2019, UzAssystem is a joint venture established through a Memorandum of Understanding between The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the international engineering company, Assystem. This exciting collaboration creates jobs for local people and bring international engineering expertise in project management, design and digital transformation to the heart of Uzbekistan’s energy transition programme.

Uzbekistan plans to develop alternative energy sources, including wind, solar and hydro, to produce electricity with low-carbon emissions. In addition, Uzbekistan plans to build Central Asia’s first nuclear power plant, so as to provide the country with “uninterrupted and high-quality electricity on an industrial scale”.

UzAssystem will bring its expertise in digital engineering to the design process, placing innovation at the heart of the energy transition projects in Uzbekistan.  By using the best available project delivery software, such as 3D and 4D modelling and BIM, the client can track project progress with ease, benefit from the cost savings delivered through time-saving digital tools and lay the foundation for further innovations across their networks.

About the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan

One of the most important conditions for the development of modern Uzbekistan is the economic stability of the country, which largely depends on achieving energy security.

An important step in this direction was the creation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, formed in accordance with the Decree of the President of the country dated 01.02.2019 No. UP-5646 “On measures to radically improve the management system of the fuel and energy industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In May 2020, The Ministry of Energy announced the development of a national Low Carbon Energy Strategy to transform the country’s energy infrastructure and create a sustainable and reliable energy network that will enable growth and prosperity.
