Preliminary Overhead Transmission line route selections for a 1,5 GW wind power plant in Kungrad

The proposed 1500 MW Kungrad Wind Farm is located in Kungrad district of Uzbekistan.
The Wind Farm shall evacuate the power in the 500 kV Uzbekistan network through an Overhead Transmission Line from Kungrad Wind Farm to Sarymai 220 kV substation and consequently to Karakul substation transmission network. The proposed 1500 MW project is divided into 3 X 500 MW wind and 3 X 100 MW BESS (connected at MV terminal of wind farm substation).
In this context, the client requested UzAssystem to conduct preliminary OHTL route selections between the 1.5 GW Kungrad wind power plant to a grid.

Construction of a 500 kV overhead line with a length of 2x249 km
Construction of 2 bays by expanding the 500 kV in the Karakul substation
Construction of a 500 kV overhead line with a length of 1x242 km
Construction of 3 bays of 500 kV by expanding the the AIS outdoor in the switching station "Sarimay" (Khorezm) which is considered to be transformed into a 500 kV Sarymay substation by JSC “NEGU”
