Power Uzbekistan 2026: UzAssystem at the Center of Discussions on the Region’s Energy Future
From May 12 to 14, 2026, UzAssystem participated in Power Uzbekistan 2026 in Tashkent. The event brought together decision-makers, industry leaders, and experts to discuss the major challenges of transforming energy systems, against a backdrop of accelerating investment and infrastructure modernization.
UzAssystem’s participation reflects its long-standing commitment to Uzbekistan’s energy sector, combining local teams based in the country with the international engineering expertise of the Assystem Group.
Since 2019, UzAssystem’s local experts have been actively supporting national stakeholders in the restructuring and modernization of energy infrastructures, ensuring that global best practices are effectively adapted to local priorities and operational realities.
Two days of conferences focusing on major changes in the sector
The first day, dedicated to the themes of digitalization and energy efficiency, Nicolas Dugot, General Manager of UzAssystem, shared practical feedback on the use of digital tools across energy projects. Based on concrete return on experience such as the comprehensive digital model of Uzbekistan’s transmission network project or ACWA Power’s 1.5 GW Kungrad Wind Farm. He demonstrated how digital solutions have improved engineering coordination, project data management, and decision-making processes, leading to greater efficiency, reduced risks, and improved overall project performance.
These exchanges highlighted the value of digital transformation as a key lever to deliver complex energy projects more reliably and sustainably.
On the second day, discussions focused on the role of nuclear energy in Uzbekistan’s future energy mix. Representing Assystem, Edgar Seeberger drew on the Group’s more than 60 years of experience in nuclear engineering to share key success factors for delivering nuclear projects. The presentation addressed critical aspects such as infrastructure readiness, project governance, financing models and innovation, with a clear objective: making new nuclear projects more reliable and economically sustainable.
The program also included a dedicated session on Women’s Leadership and Inclusion in the Energy Sector. During this session, Aibope Davletiyarova from Assystem Kazakhstan shared her personal journey and commitment as a woman working in the nuclear sector, illustrating the challenges and opportunities for women in engineering and large-scale energy projects.
This testimony echoed the Group’s concrete commitment to diversity. Across Assystem’s operations, call “incrediblewomen”, women are increasingly represented in technical, engineering and project management roles. In Assystem Kazakhstan, for instance, gender diversity has reached near parity between men and women, a level that remains rare in the energy and nuclear sectors.
“Building the energy systems requires long-term commitment, local presence and the ability to deliver complex projects with reliability and economic performance. Power Uzbekistan forum is a key opportunity to share this vision, act decisions with all stakeholders and move forward together”
Nicolas Dugot – General Manager of UzAssystem
