Grid impact study of the Combined Cycle Power plant (CCPP) in Mubarek
Context
A Korean construction group is considering located the Mubarek Combined Cycle Power plant (CCPP) in Qashqadaryo region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Qashqakadaryo is located south part of Uzbekistan. The total installed capacity envisaged for the CCPP plant is around 300 MW.
The CCPP Plant is planned to connect to existing 220kV transmission network with 3 feeders.
In order to dispose of all technical information so as to avoid any potential grid problems, the client wanted a complete impact study of the Mubarek CCPP on the Uzbek national grid.
The Korean construction group called upon UzAssystem to take care of this grid impact study.
Mission
2 DigSILENT models have been created. First model is design of 385 MVA Siemens SCC5 4000 Gas Turbine and 210 MVA Steam Turbine regarding to design of 450 MVA CCPP plant design. Second model is design of 2 pieces 190 MVA GE 9E.04 Gas Turbine and 165 MVA Steam Turbine. And in each model 300MW loading condition are evaluated.
The purpose of the studies is to:
check the system behavior and loading of the step-up transformers and transmission lines
check the voltage profiles of the buses, transformers and cables
check short circuit levels for ensuring switchgear ratings are sufficient with respect to fault levels
check power quality of the system
check harmonics flow, load unbalance and voltage flicke
